Leaking Water Maytag Washer

If your problem is a leaking water Maytag washer, you will need to check the following parts until you find out the part that needs to be replace to fix the washing machine.

Here I am going to give you a brief description of the parts you need to check, and below you will have the links to the pages with the videos that will show you how the repair is done.

Taking apart: The first thing that you need to learn to be able to fix your Maytag top load washer, is how to remove any panel to get access to the parts inside of the washer. Once you learn this, it will be very easy to do most repair in the washer.

The fill hoses: Get behind the washer and check the fill hoses to see if they are leaking water. If they are, replace them with new ones. Also if the hoses are old and cracked, you should replace them too.

Water valve: The water valve sometimes develop cracks or pin holes and if the water faucets are opened water will leak to the floor. Sometimes when the hoses are connected to the water valve the threads could be crisscross and that will allow water to drip out.

The water pump: You will also need to check the water pump. These water pumps are made of hard plastic and sometime they crack and water start leaking out of them. Below you will find the link to the video that will show you how to replace the pump.

Drain hoses: Remove the front panel and check the hoses that connect to the pump to make sure that they are not causing the washer to leak water.

The tub: Check the tub for rust spots. These tubs are cover with porcelain paint to prevent rust, but sometimes the porcelain paint chips and develop rust spots that eventually become holes that the water escapes from.

Stem & Seal: The stem and seal kit is used to seal the transmission post to the washer tub and with time and use it wears out and the washer starts leaking. A link below will show you how to check it and replace it.
