Water Level Switch

Performa Washer By Maytag

If the problem with your Performa washer is that is not filling properly, is not filling at all, it continues to fill until it overflows, or it agitates without filling with water. The problem could be a bad water level switch.

The water level switch job is to allow the selected amount of water in to the tub, then switch to complete the motor circuit so that the washer could start agitating.

Sometimes the contacts get welded on the fill position causing the washer to continue to fill until it overflows.

Other times the contacts get welded on the agitation position and the washer starts agitating instead of filling with water.
