Tub Radial Bearing

Maytag Top Load Washer With 2 Belts

If your Maytag washer sounds like a helicopter when is on the spin cycle and is leaking water through the neck of the transmission, the problem could be a bad radial bearing.

When the stem and seal develops a water leak, the water leaks through the tub bearing, and some of the water falls on the radial bearing.

If the leak is not corrected, the radial bearing becomes rusted and it starts to make noises when the washer is on the spin cycle.
