Timer Not Starting

Maytag Original Electric Dryer


If the problem with your Maytag electric dryer is that is not starting in any of the cycles, the problem could be a bad timer.

The timer is the brains of the dryer. It is the distribution center in charge of sending electricity to the different electrical parts in the dryer.

With the contacts inside of the timer opening and closing so many times every time you use the dryer, sometimes the contacts will burn out failing to close the circuit to the motor or the heating element.
