Timer

Performa by Maytag Electric Dryer

If the problem with your Performa electric dryer is that is not starting or heating in any of the cycles, the problem could be burned contact points inside of the timer.

The timer uses contacts points to complete the circuits to the different components in the dryer. The continued opening and closing of the contact points will eventually wear the points out preventing the points from closing to complete the circuit.

Since you can’t see the points inside of the timer, you will need to use a multimeter to check their continuity.
