These Maytag washer uses 2 belts. One belt to turn the transmission and the other belts to turn the water pump. These belts last a very long time if the washer is spinning or agitating properly. Watch the video below to see how to properly remove and replace the belts.

The belts: This water uses two belts, one belt to drive the transmission on agitation or spin and the other belt to turn the water pump to drain the water from the washer tub. To learn how to check, remove and replace the belts check click on the video link below.

The motor springs & slides: The springs and slide are use to automatically adjust the tension of the belts. They are mounted on the motor plate and when they are working properly the belts tension is done as needed. But you need to make one adjustment when you install the belts and then they should work properly. Watch the video below to see how to clean the motor mounting plate and install the springs & slides.

The water pump: This washer when it start to drain the water out of the tub it also start to slow spin. As the washer is draining out the speed of the spinning drum will increase. So if there are any obstructions preventing the washer from draining, the washer is not going to spin properly. Watch this video to see how to properly remove obstructions.
