The first thing you need to check when your Maytag washer is not starting, is the voltage at the wall outlet. You need to make sure that the outlet have about 120 ac volts.



After making sure that the voltage at the wall outlet is ok, then you need to learn how to take the washer apart and how to put it back together properly.



Another part you need to check is the power cord to make sure that electricity is flowing to the washer timer.



The lid or door switch is used to stop the washer from running is the washer goes off balance or if the door in the washer is open. Below you will see the videos of the newer and older lid switches.

The timer is the brain of the washer. Burned contacts inside of the timer could cause the washer to not work properly or not work at all.
