Not Starting Whirlpool
27 Inch Gas Dryer

If your Whirlpool 27 inch gas dryer is not starting

You will need to check the following parts until you find out the part that needs to be replace to fix the dryer.

Here I am going to give you a brief description of the parts you need to check, and below you will have the links to the pages with the videos that will show you how the repair is done.

Taking the dryer part: The first thing you will need to learn to be able to easily repair your dryer is how to take it apart and how to put it back together again properly. Once you learn how to do that, the repairs will be very easy to do.

The start switch: If the dryer is not starting in any of the cycles, the problem could be a bad start switch. There are two different types of start switches. The single pole single throw one and the relay activated one.

The Door switch: This switch is connected in series with the motor circuit and if the door is open or the switch is bad, the dryer will not do anything in any of the cycles that you try it on.

The Belt switch: This switch is use to make sure that the dryer won't run after pressing the start switch if the belt is broken.

The timer: If the contacts inside of the timer won’t close to complete the motor circuit, the dryer will not do anything in any of the cycles.

The motor checking: If the motor is not starting and won't run, the dryer is not going to do anything. The motor needs to run to turn the tumbler and to complete the heating circuit.
