Not Draining Whirlpool Washer

Learn How To Fix A Not Draining Whirlpool Washer

The first thing that you need to check when you have a not draining Whirlpool washer is the drain hose. You need to make sure that drain hose is not kink restricting the flow of water from the washer to the drain pipe.

Also make sure that the drain hose is just long enough to reach the drain pipe, this will eliminate the chances of the hose getting kinked.

Obstructions: You will need to check for objects mainly small pieces of clothing that could obstruct the flow of water to the drain pipe. Check the drain hole on the tub, the hose from the tub to the pump, the inside of the pump and the hose from the pump to the drain hose.

If the hose is coming out of the washer from the bottom, you could lower the hose into a pan to see if water comes out into the pan.

The water pump: Most of the draining problems happened inside of the pump. Small pieces of clothing like kids socks, handkerchiefs and other small clothing will get stuck inside of the water pump preventing the washer from draining properly or not draining at all.

Be careful when washing kids clothes, and never wash pillows because they could break and the stuffing will stuck in the pump.
