The radial bearing: If the washer leaks water through stem & seal, the water will end up on top of the radial bearing and the bearing will get rusted and it will sound like an helicopter taking off. In this case you will need to replace the stem & seal kit, the tub bearing and the radial bearing too.

The damper pads: When the damper pads get unglued and fall out of place the complete tub assembly stars to ride metal to metal and the washer starts to shake all over the place. The solution to this problem is installing new damper pads.

The brake assembly: A dry brake assembly could also be the cause of a noisy Maytag washer. The brake could make noise when the pads inside are too dry
