In this making noises GE gas dryer page you will find the videos that will show you the parts that you will need to check when your GE gas dryer is making noises. Make sure that you watch the videos a few times until you know how to check & replace the parts.

Taking the dryer apart

One of the first things that you need to learn, is how to dismantle the dryer and how to put it back together again properly. Try to learn how to do this first and everything else will be much easier to do.

Front drum bearing

This dryer use a front drum plastic bearing assembly with teflon slides that the drum slides on top of it. With time and usage the teflon slides wear out the the drum starts to ride on the plastic assembly and the dryer becomes very noisy.

Rear drum teflon bearing

This dryer also use a rear drum support bearing. The bearing use a teflon sleeve that the motor rides on it. When the teflon sleeve wears out the dryer starts running metal to metal and it sounds like a bird screeching. When the dryer just starts to make noises it is possible to just replace the rear drum teflon sleeve.

Blower wheel

The blower wheel is used to circulate the air around the clothes inside of the drum or tumbler. Something stuck on the motor blower wheel is going to make the dryer run noisy and sometimes will stop the dryer from running at all.

The motor

The motor is the work horse of the dryer and is one of the moving parts that could become noisy.
