Motor Overload Switch

Performa Washer By Maytag

If the problem with your washer is that is not doing anything in any of the cycles that you tried on, the problem could be a bad motor overload switch.

This washer uses the motor overload switch as a return line to complete all 120 ac volts circuits.

If this switch is open, the washer is completely dead, the washer will not even fill with water.

This switch is located on top of the motor windings and usually when the motor overheats, the switch opens to stop electricity from flowing to the motor.
