Maytag Original Electric Dryer

If the problem with your Maytag electric dryer is that is not starting in any of the cycles, the problem could be a bad motor.

The job of the motor is to turn the belt to make the dryer tumble, turn the heating element on, and turn the blower wheel to circulate the air inside of the dryer. .

If the dryer runs ok when is cold, but after 20 minutes or more the motor stops running and makes a humming noise when you push on the start switch. The motor is overheating and it must be replace.

The easier way to learn how to replace the motor is by seeing how it is done.
