If the problem with your GE Hotpoint electric dryer is that is not heating at all. The problem could be bad heating elements.
These dryers use two heating elements to produce the heat to dry the clothes. The heating elements are made of a metal that resist the flow of electricity.
This resistance to the flow of electricity causes the elements to get red hot and produce the heat needed to dry the clothes.
The constant heating and cooling causes the elements to weaken and eventually break, stopping the dryer from producing heat.
The easier way to learn how check & replace the heating elements is by seeing how it is done in a video.
