How to fix your Whirlpool 27 inch gas dryer when is heating irregular

If your Whirlpool made 27 inch electric or gas dryer  is heating irregular, in other words the dryer takes too long to dry a load of clothes or the dryer get so hot that is damaging the clothes.

You will need to check each one of the following parts until you find out what part or parts are causing you dryer to heat irregular.

The exhaust hose:
The dryer has to have good air circulation in order to dry the clothes the way that it supposed to. Look for a kinked or clogged exhaust hose.
The blower wheel:
The blower wheel is in charge of circulating the air inside of the dryer. Broken vanes or a clogged blower housing, could make the dryer heat irregular.

The thermistor:
If the thermistor is not working properly, the dryer could take too long to dry the clothes or it could produce too much heat and damage the clothes.

The operating thermostat:
If this thermostat is not working properly, the dryer could take too long to dry the clothes or it could produce too much heat and damage the clothes.

The timer:
Worn out contacts inside of the timer could be opening and closing the heating circuit when the circuit should be close.

The moisture sensor:
If the moisture sensor is not working properly, the dryer could be heating irregular.

The belt:
If the belt is stretched out, it may not be turning the drum at the right speed, causing the dryer to take longer to dry a load.

The drum baffles:
The drum baffles are use to tumble the clothes around the drum. If your dryer is missing a baffle or two, the clothes will not tumble around the drum and it will take longer to dry the clothes.
