If your problem is a not filling Performa washer, you will need to check the following parts until you find out the part that needs to be replace to fix the washing machine.
Here I am going to give you a brief description of the parts you need to check, and below you will have the links to the pages with the videos that will show you how the repair is done.
The water faucets: If the washer is not taking in cold or hot water, the first thing you need to make sure is that there is water coming from the faucets to the water valve.
Turn the water faucets off and remove the intake hoses. Put a towel on the floor to catch any water from the hoses. Put the hoses inside of the washer tub and open the faucets. If cold and hot water flows good from the hoses, then you know that the water faucets are not the problem.
Water valve screens: The water valve uses 2 filters inside of the fill hose connectors. These filters are used to catch sediment in the water before they enter the washer. With time and washer usage they get clogged restricting the flow of water.
Remove then and clean them if you can, or replace them if you can’t clean them.
Water mixing valve: You could use a multimeter to check the solenoids on the water valve. But there is easier and most reliable way to check the water valve. You will need to make a homemade test cord to apply about 120 ac volts directly to the solenoids on the water valve. Trying to explain how this is done will take a lot of writing, so the best way to learn how to do it is by watching the video on the link below.
Water temperature switch: This switch is used to direct electricity to the cold and hot water solenoids. The cold setting activates the cold water solenoid. The hot setting activates the hot water solenoid. The warm setting activates the cold & hot water solenoids at the same time.
If the contacts in this switch fail to direct the electricity to the selected solenoid, the washer is not going to fill properly.
The water level switch: This switch is used to control the amount of water in the tub. The most common settings are large, medium and small, with other settings in between.
When you set the water level on one of the settings, the washer starts taking in water until air pressure switch the contacts in this switch from the fill mode to the agitate mode and the washer starts to agitate.
