Damper Straps

GE Hotpoint Front Serviceable Washer

If your GE washer seems like is banging the sides of the cabinet during the spin cycle, the problem could be broken or stretched damper straps.

These washers use four rubber straps to keep the tub assembly in the middle of the cabinet. When one or more of the rubber straps breaks, the tub assembly will bang against the cabinet.

To check them out you will need to remove the front and top panels.
