Cabinet Removing

Whirlpool made direct drive washers

The first thing you need to learn before trying to fix your Whirlpool direct drive washer, is how remove the cabinet and reinstall it properly. Once you learn how to do this it will be very easy to follow my videos and see how the repairs are done.

Disconnect the washer from the wall outlet to avoid getting an electrical shock while working on it. Open the controls panel, then use a flat screwdriver to disengage and remove the 2 clips that holds the cabinet in place.

Disconnect the door switch and the power cord from the washer. Tilt the cabinet forward and remove it. Now you have access to the internal parts in the washer like the motor, the pump, the motor coupler, and the transmission or the gearcase. Watch the video below a few times until you are sure that you know how to dismantle the washer properly.
