Belt Switch

Whirlpool 27 Inch Electric Dryer

If the problem with your Whirlpool 27 inch electric dryer is that is not doing anything in any of the cycles. The problem could be a bad belt switch.

The belt switch is a safety switch that is activated or deactivated by the idler pulley.

When the belt is ok, the idler pulley is on a position that the belt switch is turned on and the motor can run. And when the belt breaks, the idler pulley is pull down by a spring, and it turns the belt switch off and the motor can’t run.
