How to check and adjust the drum baffles in a
Whirlpool made 29 inch electric or gas dryer

The drum uses baffles to tumble the clothes around the drum, so the clothes could dry properly.

Sometimes the baffles holding screws become loose and the baffles get loose and start to make a lot of noises as they rattle when the drum turns.

Other times the threads strip, the screws get unscrewed and they come undone and fall in to the drum.

To tighten the screws on a loose baffle or if you need to replace a broken one, do the following.

Always disconnect the dryer from the wall outlet before doing any work on it. Then remove the lint filter and the two screws near the lint filter housing.

Use a screw driver to pry open the top panel. After opening the top panel, you can get access to the drum baffles holding screws.
