Performa Washer By Maytag

If the problem with your Performa washer is that the washer fills with water, the motor runs, but the agitator won’t agitate to clean the clothes, the problem could be a bad or stripped agitator.

To check the agitator out do the following

1. With the washer empty, open the door

2. Gab the agitator by the vanes and try to turn it clockwise and counterclockwise

3. If you can’t easily turn it clockwise and counterclockwise, the agitator is ok and the problem is   somewhere else.

4. If you can easily turn it clockwise and counterclockwise, the agitator is bad and you will need to replace it.
