Not Agitating Performa Washer

If your problem is a not agitating Performa washer, you will need to check the following parts until you find out the part that needs to be replace to fix the washing machine.

Here I am going to give you a brief description of the parts you need to check, and below you will have the links to the pages with the videos that will show you how the repair is done.

The agitator: If the problem with your Performa washer is that the washer fills with water, the motor runs, but the agitator won’t agitate to clean the clothes, the problem could be a bad or stripped agitator.

To check the agitator out do the following.  With the washer empty, open the door grab the agitator by the vanes and try to turn it clockwise and counterclockwise

If you can’t easily turn it clockwise and counterclockwise, the agitator is ok and the problem is   somewhere else.

If you can easily turn it clockwise and counterclockwise, the agitator is bad and you will need to replace it. To see how to check & replace the agitator in a Performa washer, view the video below

The belt: If the problem with your Performa washer is that the motor runs, but the washer won’t agitate, drain, or spin. The problem could be a broken or worn out belt.

To check the belt the washer needs to be empty of water. Pull the washer forward and lean it against the wall so you could take a look under.

Now you could look under to see if the belt is broken or worn out. If the belt is broken or worn out, you should replace the belt and the motor pulley. To see how to check & replace the belt in a Performa washer, view the video below
