Noises could come from many parts in the washer. You need to listen to try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from.
Off balance washer: Most noises on your Maytag washer are cause by the washer going off balance. The mayor reason for this, is overloading the washer. The user try's to do too much laundry at one time and this cause the washer to go off balance and it bangs all over the place.
The motor : The motor is a very hard working part in the washer, and with time, it will start to get noisy. Most of the noises coming from the motor happens when the motor bearings wear out, and there is too much play between the part of the motor that turns and the part that doesn't move. This could be one of the reasons why your washer is making noises.
The belts : Overloading the washer and age have a lot to do for the belts to wear out. When that happens, the belts will slip more easily causing them to get hot and start to make squealing noises. This could be another of the reasons why your washer is making noises.
The transmission : The pump seldom makes noises, unless there is something like a coin or a bra wire inside of the pump and the impeller is hitting it when it turns. Other than that the pump will run pretty quiet.
The damper pads : The damper pads between the washer floor and the drum assembly. They cushions or mufflers the sound when the washer is on the spin cycle. When they become unglued, the tub assembly rides in contact with the washer floor and the washer will shake all over the place, this could be the reason why your Maytag washer is making noises.
