Below you will find the parts you
need to check when the Maytag dryer is making
noises.
When the dryer start to make noises the first thing
you need to do, is lo listen to see if you could
pinpoint where the noise is coming from.
The blower wheel will run every time the motor runs.
The blower has a D shape hole on the middle and a
pressure clamp to hold it in place on the motor
shaft.
When the hole in the blower wheel gets rounded, the
motor shaft will slip whit out turning the blower
and the blower will make a rattling noise.
Also if any item falls through the filter opening it
could rub against the blower wheel and that could be
the reason why your dryer is making noises.
The dryer uses two drum support rollers on the rear
of the drum. These drum rollers are made of hard
rubber with a metal sleeve on the the middle of the
roller.
When the grease on the metal sleeve dries out, the
roller start to wear out and it will make a
squealing noise.
The idler pulley has a metal bracket and a plastic
wheel. It is use to put the right tension on the
belt and to keep the belt positioned on the right
place. When the grease dries out on the shaft, it
will wear out and could be the cause why your Maytag
dryer is making noises.
When the bearings in the motor wear out, the motor
could become very noisy too.
When the holding screws on the drum baffles get
loose, the baffles will start making a rattling
noise. If you don't tighten the holding screws when
you notice the noise, the baffles may need to be
replace.
As you could see, there are many parts that could be
the reason why your Maytag dryer is making noises. |
