GE washer is not starting
These are the parts you need to
check, when your the washer won't start.
The wall outlet
The first thing to check when the washer will not start is the wall outlet. Disconnect the washer and connect a good working hair dryer in the outlet.
If the hair dryer works, then you know that the problem must be in the washer.
If the good working hair dryer doesn't work, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. This could be the reason why your GE washer is not starting.
If the problem is bigger than that, call a license electrician to take care of the electrical problem.
The push/pull timer switch
This is the main switch inside of the timer. When you push the timer knob in, you turn the switch off and when you select a cycle and pull the timer knob, you turn the push/pull timer switch on.
A bad timer push/pull switch could be the cause why your GE washer is not starting.
The cord
The cord is a very important part because it carries the electricity from the wall outlet to the timer.
The biggest problem with the cord is a loose connection on the wall outlet. Most users don't check to see if they have a tight connection at the wall outlet.
If you check the cord and see that the terminals on the cord are burnt, check for a loose connection at the wall outlet
If you have to replace the cord because it has burnt terminals you also have to have the wall outlet replace. Replacing the cord with out having the wall outlet replace, will result in the cord not lasting long.
